4th Month, Community Wraps
by Administrator on Apr.02, 2010, under Acting, General
Four months in LA babay! Last Thursday I got to see myself for the first time on national tv, on the show Community; great fun. Community wrapped last Friday (I think tapings resume late summer, and hope to be on the set again then).
Last Wednesday and Thursday I had a blast on the set: got to speak with the director and told him how much I have enjoyed the experience and then engaged in a conversation with the great Chevy (after kinda stalking him) at crafty:
PB: Good evening Mr. Chase. Excuse me, gonna steal some chocolate.
Mr. Chase: (After giving me a stare that told me he was on the verge of beating me within an inch of my life with a toothpick) No problem. Where the hell is the trash-can?
PB: Right over there Mr. Chase. Have a great evening.
Mr. Chase: Yeah, you too.
All in all, everyone I have met on the set of Community (the principal actors, directors, ADs, etc.), save for some background ppl with attitudes, were class acts & I have really enjoyed the experience.
Wednesday night had the opportunity to attend a breast cancer awareness event in Beverly Hills; unfortunately didn’t get to see or meet Stephen Baldwin as the smell of pretention that permeated from some in attendance was nauseating & I left. Got to get a picture with wrestler Al “Mr. Outrageous” Burke.
I do have a new Resumes, etc. section up: various resumes, letters of recommendation and commendation. Lot of projects that I am still working on, wish there were more hours in the day. That does it for this update. As always, check me out on Facebook for pics, info, status updates, etc.

Community, Earthquakes & More…
by Administrator on Mar.18, 2010, under General
Excited about being on the set of Community today, really enjoying the people and seeing all that goes into creating shows watched by millions. Seriously looking into the New York Film Academy about pursuing a Masters in Screenwriting &/or Film.
Monday got to experience my first earthquake here in LA: 4:00 a.m. and registered as a 4.5. I lost a bet with Sam who said that the earthquake in Illinois last year was bigger: registered as a 5.2. Now, we have a bet: she says that Illinois is not all that Conservative, especially in Sangamon County/Springfield; I maintain, on the other hand, that Springfield is very Conservative. Hope to prove her wrong with some hard facts and demographics.
Happy belated St. Patrick’s Day. Let’s not forget the reason for the season: a bunch of drunks pretending to be Irish.

13th Year Online
by Administrator on Mar.15, 2010, under Bleidd Publishing, General
Today marks a milestone of sorts for me: Bleidd Publishing is now 13 years old! This website was created in the cold, dank and unholy confines of the Blackburn College Computer Lab in Hudson Hall on a rusty Gateway computer on March 15, 1997 when I saw my friend Stephanie working on hers. After teaching me some basic HTML, I was set.
At first, the site just had a simple about me: personal stats, what I was majoring in, my interests, etc., but nothing really juicy or meaty. Eventually I created a couple fan pages on the site: WCW pro-wrestling and AC/DC, and started to add genealogical stuff in 1999. Originally, I nicknamed the site “The Den of the Black Wolf” as a sort of homage to my surname, which is Welsh for “little wolf” and for the little rebellious period I was going through in college my sophomore year.
By 2000, with two years left and my rebellious stage gone, I turned the site more into a genealogical showcase; selling a genealogical booklet I had written as well as business info for individuals to contact me with if they were interested in hiring me for research (genealogical, historical, theological, etc.) and web design/management. For a more serious feel, I changed the name of this site to Blevins Web Productions and it reached a great deal popularity.
In December of 2002 I graduated from Blackburn with a degree in history and moved to Springfield, IL., with ambition in my step, a dream in my head and a goal in my heart. As a new grad, I realized food was more important than a website, so I reverted it back from having a personal domain to a simple free Yahoo! Geocities site until around 2005 when brought back PalmerBlevins.com and created a new domain BlevinsCo.com; still business sites in nature, I added genealogy back to the mix as well as political commentary. The time period from 2005-2007 was the heyday of this site; logging thousands of visitors of month and comments galore from a host of people.
In 2007, after changing it to PalmerBlevins.net, this site began to go in decline as I began to loose interest in and become jaded in politics and my own political aspirations. I lost the spark and love I had in writing, and this site began to reflect it as I was constantly deleting posts/comments, revamping, etc. Many times I thought about just calling it quits when it came to this site and writing.
But here we are now in 2010. I recently changed the name of this website to Bleidd Publishing (Bleidd being a Welsh term for “wolf”, similiar to my surname which is also Welsh for “wolf”) when I relocated here to Los Angeles, to more less symbolize going back to this site’s roots. More business in nature than personal now, I feel more motivated to write now more than ever. Though the formerly popular Blevins Blog page is no more, and I don’t plan on writing scathing in your face articles any more (have to play nice and professional), it is my goal to make this site very popular once again.
I would like to thank the people who have visited this site frequently since its humble beginnings 13 years ago, as well as new visitors. In addition, I have also reset the StatCounter. As always, I welcome comments, suggestions and questions as long as they are in good taste and respectful. Hopefully this site will be around in another 13 years and will enter another golden age.
3rd Month in LA
by Administrator on Feb.25, 2010, under Acting, General
Yesterday marked my third month in LA, and I have enjoyed it thus far. I also got my first check yesterday for my work on the set of Community from earlier this month. Can’t wait to see the check for my work from Friday and Monday on the set.
Monday was the biggest OMFG! moment of my life thus far. I went to get a bite to eat from catering when standing at the coffee machine was the one and the only, Chevy Chase. Awestruck and nervous as hell, I swallowed hard, walked up to him and said “Excuse me, Mr. Chase.” He turned and shot me a look. Fearing that if I didn’t make it quick, I would have an arm or leg fed to me, I continued. “Hope this isn’t out of line, but just wanted to tell you that I am a huge fan of your work and it is an honor to be on set with you.” Fearing that I would be meeting his fist, he graciously extended his hand and simply said “thank you very much for that.” He smiled, shook my hand and walked away. It was a great feeling getting to meet one of my childhood heroes, a man of great class and quite dignity.
To mark my third month in LA, today I made a nice little feast of Matzo ball soup, brisket and falafel and had a mini Two and a Half Men marathon. It’s a shame that Charlie Sheen may heading to rehab and production may be put on hold.
My OMG! Moment

I get to the stage, open the door and walk in. Turning, I almost run right into one of my childhood heroes, Chevy Chase. It was awesome seeing him, didn’t say anything (afterall, didn’t want fed my limbs) but had loads of fun. On the set of Community last afternoon/night/early this morning (13 hours of fun), I got inspiration for a script. Let’s call it Fan Fiction.
Will Be on Community Again
by Administrator on Feb.19, 2010, under Acting, General
I will be on the set of Community again this Friday afternoon and quite possibly on Monday as well. I am begining to enjoy being on different sets and watching actors/actresses, directors, etc., hone their crafts.
I Will be on the Set of Trueblood!

I will be on the set of True Blood on Tuesday morning as a bar patron. Funny how I didn’t move to LA to be an actor, yet this is my second gig. I hope they use the takes I will be in.
Had a Blast on Community
by Administrator on Feb.10, 2010, under Acting, General
I had a blast on the set of Community, as I got to see one of my childhood heroes, Chevy Chase, hone his craft, unfortunately was unable to meet him. Apparently, Chevy has a policy that if you speak 2 him w/o permission, he rips off your arms & legs & feeds them 2 u…rectally. Yikes!
Lot’s of good food! Can’t wait to do it again, soon.
